How it works:

Immune Function: 


Vitamin C is an antioxidant required in at least 300 metabolic functions in the body. It aids in the production of an important immune system protein, interferon and protects against infection and enhances immunity.


Overall, regular use of vitamin C shortens the duration of the common cold, but does not reduce the risk of becoming ill.




Vitamin C is needed in the metabolism of folic acid, Tyrosine, Carnitine and phenylalanine.


Vitamin C works synergistic with both Vitamin E and beta-carotene. Vitamin E scavenges for free radicals in cell membranes, and Vitamin C attacks free radicals in biologic fluids – so both vitamins extend each other’s antioxidant activity.


Collagen production: 


Vitamin C is essential in the formation of collagen, a protein found in connective tissue. In this way, Vitamin C prevents bruising (by strengthening the capillaries) and keeps ligaments and tendons strong and healthy.




A common sign of lesser degrees of deficiency include gums that bleed when brushed.

As a food supplement, take 1 to 2 capsules daily with food or as directed by your healthcare practitioner.  Divided doses during the day with food are suggested for optimal use.


Adults 18 years and older: up to 1000mg daily.


Children 1-3 years:  400mg daily


Children: 4 – 8 years:  650mg daily


Children: 9 -18 years (including pregnancy or breastfeeding females): 1000mg daily


Vitamin C is considered safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding in amounts not exceeding the recommendations above.


Upper level limit intakes for 18 years and older:  up to 2000mg daily.  For optimal absorption, take 1 capsule every 3 – 4 hours with a snack or a meal.
